We are seeking a highly skilled IT Specialist to join our team at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. As a Supervisory IT Specialist, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and maintaining the managerial information requirements portion of the migratory financial management and accounting systems used.

• Develops, tests, and debugs program code for new and existing software
• Identifies alternative approaches to the design of current or proposed systems
• Prepares system documentation for purposes of improving software development processes
• Plans, manages, and supervises assigned staff of technical personnel
• Serves as an expert analyst coordinating with multifunctional task forces to establish goals, objectives, and policies

• U.S. Citizenship or National

• Registered for Selective Service (if applicable)
• This national security position requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment

• One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 in the federal service
• Leading projects and teams supporting major information technology (IT) systems
• Experience with business processes surrounding the software development life cycle of IT systems
• Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with software changes and releases
