ATACO Steel Products Corporation, a prominent name in metal stamping and fabrication, is seeking a driven and meticulous Junior Estimating Engineer to enhance our expansion efforts and refine our quoting procedures.

• Examine historical data regarding work-center capabilities and production capacity
• Gather quotes from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors
• Create comprehensive cost estimates utilizing Excel and various software tools
• Design and execute a more effective quoting system to ensure quote turnaround times are under 24 hours
• Coordinate, delegate, and manage newly awarded programs as needed
• Effectively communicate project updates to clients
• Develop and uphold precise procedural documentation
• Spend considerable time on the production floor to gain insights into manufacturing processes and guarantee accurate estimates
• Engage in additional engineering tasks during slower periods
• Initiate a program to outsource portions of the quoting process
• Propose and implement software solutions to enhance and automate the quoting workflow

Essential Qualifications:

• A degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in manufacturing
• Proficient in SolidWorks and the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and perform well under pressure
• Proven initiative and enthusiasm for driving change and continuous improvement
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cost estimating and familiarity with cost estimating software
• Background in a metal stamping or fabrication setting (preferred but not mandatory)
