The Emory Healthcare Heart Transplant Center is expanding, and we are seeking skilled Acute Care certified Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide medical management in the outpatient clinic.
- Participate in the transplant selection committee.
- Potentially engage in some inpatient rounding.
Our Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants play a vital role within the Emory Healthcare integrated academic health care system.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary range: $110,000 to $140,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Eligibility for an incentive plan.
- Student Loan repayment benefits.
- Paid Parental Leave available to qualified employees.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of Transplant experience required.
- Nurse Practitioner candidates must hold Acute Care Certification (ACNP or AGACNP).
Job Duties:
- Assist in evaluating and treating patients.
- Document care delivery in medical records.
- Conduct patient interviews and document histories, including psychosocial and health status.
- Under physician supervision, perform physical examinations and specialized diagnostic or therapeutic procedures, such as cast application and removal, wound suturing, and dressing changes.
- Collaborate with physicians to diagnose medical issues, develop care plans, and prescribe treatments.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
- Current licensure as an advanced practice nurse in Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certification as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent, or certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- May require at least one year of direct experience in high acuity clinical specialties.
- BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications are mandatory; ACLS may be required in specific areas.

Physical Requirements:
- Medium-Heavy lifting (up to 75 lbs) and carrying objects up to 35 lbs.

- Exposure to blood-borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, communicable diseases, and other environmental conditions may vary based on assigned tasks.
