Position Overview:
The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive medical care within the surgical department. This position involves performing thorough patient evaluations, providing ongoing care, and ensuring effective follow-up as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Nurse Practitioner, your duties will encompass:
  1. Conducting detailed assessments of patients to determine their health status.
  2. Ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
  3. Identifying actual or potential health issues based on collected data and formulating appropriate treatment plans.
  4. Prescribing medications and initiating treatments based on clinical findings.
  5. Performing routine medical procedures, including injections, wound care, and blood draws.
  6. Providing education to patients regarding their treatment plans and medications.

Reporting Structure:
This role reports directly to the supervising physician and the Operations Manager of Practice Management.

Physical Demands:
Be aware that this position may involve additional physical requirements and respiratory fit testing. For more details, please refer to the relevant internal resources.

Safety Considerations:
Potential exposure to infectious materials, blood, and hazardous substances is inherent in this role. Adherence to standard safety protocols is mandatory.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:
  • A degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • A valid Nurse Practitioner license in Oklahoma.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with:
  • RN First Assistant certification.
  • Acute Care Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner certification (AG-ACNP).
