Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Program Developer to join our team at Abilities First. As a Program Developer, you will play a critical role in facilitating the transition of adults with disabilities to competitive employment. Your primary function will be to establish relationships with local businesses and agencies to create qualitative employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain a network of relationships with local businesses and agencies to create employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
  • Perform assessments and intake for individuals entering the OPWDD Discovery First/ETP program.
  • Complete all tasks related to the Discovery First Program, including assessments, interviews, observations, and file reviews.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation, including timesheets, discovery reports, and therapy documentation, is completed in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with the OPWDD Discovery First/ETP supervisor and attend quarterly meetings.
  • Develop a positive community-based employer network and maintain relationships with employers who have hired individuals through Integrated Employment Services.
  • Provide ongoing communication with the SEMP Management team to ensure a smooth transition of individuals to SEMP Extended Services.
  • Collaborate with Transition Coordinator and School to Work staff to ensure a smooth transition from students already enrolled in the ETP program.
  • Ensure participant satisfaction by working cooperatively with department supervisors and coaching staff.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field.
  • One year of sales and marketing experience (preferred).
  • At least two years' experience working with individuals with disabilities in a vocational setting.
  • Current NYS driver's license, free of moving violations, deemed acceptable by our insurance carrier.
