Medical Physicist Opportunity at Atrium Health

Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Physicist to join our team in the Radiation Oncology department. As a Medical Physicist, you will play a critical role in the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment, working closely with radiation oncologists, medical dosimetrists, and radiation therapists.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide physics services related to treatment planning and delivery, ensuring compliance with Radiation Oncologist's prescriptions.
  • Perform quality assurance checks on department equipment, adhering to NC state requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with radiation oncologists and medical dosimetrists to provide technical expertise in treatment planning, patient setup, and treatment delivery.
  • Maintain expertise in treatment planning and delivery hardware and software, performing routine quality assurance checks and peer reviews.
  • Participate in research, performance improvement projects, and staff in-services, contributing to the advancement of radiation oncology care.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Medical Physics or equivalent field of study.
  • Board Certified in Therapeutic Radiologic Physics by the American Board of Radiology or its International equivalent.
  • 3 years' experience as a Radiation Medical Physicist preferred.
