Job Summary:

The Custodian - Part-Time will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the GLOW YMCA facilities. This includes sweeping, mopping, dusting, and trash removal, as well as performing other duties related to window washing, meeting setup, pool cleaning, snow removal, and grounds-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the GLOW YMCA facilities are clean and well-maintained by completing all assigned duties and tasks.
  • Operate various cleaning equipment and tools, including motorized and non-motorized equipment.
  • Report and record maintenance requests, and perform repairs as directed.
  • Ensure the security and safety of the GLOW YMCA facilities and report any incidents or hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks, including yard work and painting.
  • Adhere to GLOW YMCA policies and procedures, including safety and cleanliness standards, disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • Two or more years of related experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
  • Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
  • Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of equipment upkeep and care.
  • Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe and efficient use.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 60 days of hire.

Physical Demands:

  • Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform essential duties.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to work with various cleaning equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to perform essential maintenance tasks, including semi-reach overhead, crouching, kneeling, shoveling, and working in narrow spaces.

Working Conditions:

The Custodian - Part-Time will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with regular communication with supervisors and colleagues.
