Description

As a Parking Attendant with York County, Virginia, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service to visitors and residents, while also maintaining a safe and organized parking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide quality customer service to visitors and residents, answering questions and providing information on parking options and local attractions.
  • Monitor the Riverwalk Landing Parking Terrace, detecting incoming traffic and assessing parking flow to ensure efficient use of parking spaces.
  • Assist guests with locating authorized parking in the area and provide directions to local points of interest.
  • Inform supervisor of missing parking signs, equipment failure, needed repairs, and other general maintenance needs.
  • Work a flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays to support year-round events in Yorktown.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with some experience assisting the public.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service and exercise considerable tact and courtesy.
  • General knowledge of the Yorktown area and ability to provide directions to local points of interest.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia with satisfactory driving record.
  • Requires an acceptable criminal background check.

Working Conditions

The work is performed mostly outdoors and under varying weather conditions. The ability to operate a utility vehicle, stand for long periods of time, and walk from one work area to another is required. May require lifting up to 50 lbs. and carrying of equipment from a variety of work areas to another.
