Responsibilities:
  • Deliver and pick up book fairs and products from schools in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Work closely with supervisors to ensure customer service standards are met.
  • Load and unload trucks with or without assistance of mechanical devices.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of motor vehicles and notify supervisors of any defects or problems.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records, including DOT Logs, trip sheets, and fuel tickets.
  • Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, including well-groomed hair, clean uniform, and hygienic habits.
  • Utilize proper techniques for lifting, packing, and handling heavy objects.
  • Regularly carry and transport boxes up and down stairs and push/pull rolling metal book cases.
  • Maintain trucks according to company standards.
  • Regular attendance and adherence to schedule.
  • Compliance with drug and alcohol-free policy.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
  • Verifiable commercial driving experience of at least one year required.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age.
  • Possess valid CDL license with air brake endorsement.
  • Pass a drug screen, alcohol screen, Motor Vehicle Record review, criminal background review, and DOT physical examination.
  • Ability to drive vehicles weighing up to 34,000 GVW.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Push and handle rolling metal book cases weighing a few hundred lbs. on a regular and repetitive basis.
  • Transport boxes of books up and down stairs.
  • Customer service-oriented.
  • Ability to read road maps and follow directions.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Certain routes may require overnight stays.
  • Good verbal/written communication skills and basic math skills.

Requirements:

  • Valid CDL license with air brake endorsement.
  • Verifiable commercial driving experience of at least one year.
  • High school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to push and handle rolling metal book cases weighing a few hundred lbs.
