Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Metrology Technician to join our team at QPS Employment Group. As a Metrology Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurements and inspections in our production process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed inspections and measurements of parts and components using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and CMMs to ensure adherence to design specifications
  • Calibrate and verify the precision of instruments before and during inspections to ensure accuracy
  • Conduct inspections for Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and Initial Run (IR) components, verifying that all parts meet stringent customer and internal quality standards
  • Measure and inspect prototype parts to support engineering development and confirm adherence to design specifications during early-stage production
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine exact measurement and inspection requirements
  • Record and analyze measurement data, documenting any nonconformances and providing clear feedback to production and engineering teams for corrective action
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance measurement processes, techniques, and accuracy
  • Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and ensure that all parts and components conform to required standards
  • Conduct Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies to validate measurement processes and ensure consistent accuracy across different operators and tools

Requirements:

  • 2 years of related calibration, instrumentation, or metrology experience
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in using various precision measuring instruments
  • Basic understanding of calibration principles, equipment maintenance, Gage R&R studies, PPAP/IR inspection process, and prototype part inspections
