Permit Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Permit Clerk/Receptionist to join our team at the City of Angleton. As a key member of our Development Services department, you will provide administrative support and assist with permit processing, customer service, and other related duties.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and manage correspondence, bills, statements, and other documents
- Sort and file records, and maintain accurate records
- Provide exceptional customer service, answering phones, and directing visitors to City Hall
- Process plans and applications for permits, and assist the public with identifying appropriate permits
- Dispatch inspectors and officers, and utilize record-keeping software for department documents
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including data entry, creating and maintaining project files, and running reports
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year of experience in an office or customer service environment
- Experience in permit processing is desired, and municipal government experience is preferred
- Proficient in using computers, software, email, phones, and office equipment
- A valid Texas Class "C" Driver's License in good standing
The work environment is typically quiet, and you will be required to sit, talk, hear, and utilize the telephone, as well as stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The City of Angleton is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
