Job Summary

Albany Medical Center seeks a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Imaging and Related Services department, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures and assisting in the clinical evaluation and care of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize nuclear medicine modalities to create diagnostic images and provide patients with a safe and positive experience.
  • Enforce radiation safety measures in accordance with New York State Department of Health code part 16.
  • Support teaching and continued learning as technology evolves.
  • Prepare and administer dosages of radiopharmaceuticals, position patients for scanning, and operate nuclear medicine instruments and imaging equipment.
  • Ensure radiation safety and quality control procedures, dispose of radioactive materials, and monitor work areas and patient rooms to comply with NY State regulations.
Requirements

A graduate of a 2-year AMA Nuclear Medicine School is required, along with ARRT and NMTCB certification. On-call responsibility is also expected.
