Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to join our team at the City of McMinnville, OR. As a key member of our Public Works department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our Class IV Water Reclamation Facility and associated pump stations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the Water Reclamation Facility and pump stations, ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations and meeting stringent effluent standards.
  • Monitor and control plant processes, including biological and chemical nutrient removal systems, and interpret process control laboratory data.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including calibration of equipment and sensors, and troubleshoot malfunctions.
  • Collect and analyze samples, and conduct process control testing.
  • Participate in emergency response efforts, including responding to spills and taking corrective action.
  • Collaborate with other City departments to protect the safety and health of citizens.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in a related field, such as wastewater technology or environmental science.
  • At least 2 years of experience at a Class III or higher wastewater treatment facility.
  • Valid Oregon DEQ Treatment Operator II Certification.
  • Confined Space Training and First Aid/CPR Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with advanced wastewater treatment processes, including biological and chemical nutrient removal systems.
  • Knowledge of process control laboratory tests and data analysis.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies.
