Soliant is in search of a proficient and committed Sign Language Facilitator to become a part of our team in the Decatur, AL area for the upcoming academic year. If you are dedicated to enhancing communication and positively impacting the educational experiences of students with hearing challenges, we welcome your application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver sign language interpretation services within an educational environment.
- Assist in instructional activities by translating spoken language into sign language.
- Support students in comprehending and engaging in classroom discussions and activities.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to promote effective communication.
- Contribute to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere for students with hearing impairments.
Qualifications:
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (national certification preferred) - RID or NIC Certification.
- EIPA score of 3.0 or higher is required.
- Experience in a school setting as a sign language interpreter is preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
