Financial Analyst

As a Controller, you will provide sales and expense analyses for all departments, fairly representing the financial condition of the dealership and developing controls necessary for the proper conduct of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing complete financial statements and submitting them to the manufacturer and management in accordance with established timeframes
• Interpreting and analyzing financial statements
• Keeping the General Manager informed on the trends and cash needs of the business
• Developing and maintaining an effective cash management system
• Managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the store to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with all AutoNation accounting processes and policies
• Closing the books accurately each month
• Preparing and submitting required statements and reports
• Managing and safeguarding the store's assets and ensuring that internal controls are in place
• Assisting department managers in reading and interpreting their financial reports and in creating action plans needed to improve their operation
• Responding to requests for information and assistance in a timely manner
• Working with the General Manager to improve revenue or reduce expense in order to meet or exceed budget and grow the business
• Working with regional staff to ensure that corporate initiatives are attained

Requirements for this role include:

• A High School diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience in a dealership position (preferred)
• Working knowledge of dealership financial statements
• Ability to explain technical financial information in an understandable manner
• Excellent communication skills
