Account Collector

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Account Collector to enhance and support our auto loan collections department. The successful candidate will focus on engaging with customers who are past due on their auto loan payments.
Responsibilities- Maintain, monitor and control collection activity and portfolio performance at or below 6.75% 30+ days delinquency, including repossessions (monthly average).
- Maintain charge off levels at or below 6.00% of net outstandings (annually).
- Review delinquent account records to determine which customers must be contacted for collection of overdue accounts.
- Organize collection workload according to degree and amount of delinquency.
- Accurately prepare all internal documentation.
- Administrative activities, such as title and insurance follow-up, commodity checks and verifications.
- Refs accounts to supervisor for repossession and legal actions against debtors.
- Examines work for exactness and conformance to Lighthouse Acceptance Corporation's Policies and Procedures Manual; as well as comply with all Federal and State regulations and collection practices.
- 1 to 3 years consumer finance/auto finance collections, skip tracing, repossessions and collateral disposal.
- Excellent communication skills (including listening, speaking).
- Ability to read, speak and understand English.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work alone, self motivate and manage one's own time.
- Physical ability to use computer hardware/software.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Computer literate (MS Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook).
- Organized and extremely detail-oriented.
- Ability to prioritize.
- Deadline-oriented.
- Research skills.
- General math skills.
- Basic knowledge of dealership operations and/or office/clerical experience.
