Product Development Engineer
Job Summary:As a Product Development Engineer at Fuyao Glass America, you will be responsible for the development of new products and tooling. This includes executing tooling and fixture designs, optimization, and preventative trouble-shooting in coordination with product processes to ensure production stability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop new products and tooling, ensuring they meet project targets, timelines, and budgets.
- Identify product development risks for new projects and confirm product standard requirements based on customer requests.
- Design, verify, and debug new products and fixtures, ensuring effective tooling associated with specific products.
- Monitor and aid new product sample builds with related tooling and fixtures.
- Optimize current fixtures by improving designs, mechanisms, or technical specifications to avoid similar issues in future development projects.
- Solve technical problems during project development and production.
- Ability to read and understand English documents as needed.
- Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership, and customers.
- Ability to speak, read, and/or write Mandarin is a plus.
- 1 or more years of manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Junior college and above, major in mechanical engineering or technology.
- Healthy, able to travel, and able to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Experienced with manufacturing processes, knowledge of automotive glass production a plus.
- Proficient in office software such as WORD, EXCEL, Power Point, & Outlook.
- Proficient in three-dimensional software UG, CATIA, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in APQP documents such as FMEA, BOM, process flow diagram, DVP&R, etc.
- Experience in project development is preferred.
Bright, clean, and well-ventilated office building. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Safety requirements for this position are safety glasses and steel-toed work boots.
