Our Float Pool caters to a diverse range of patients across various units and departments.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), your responsibilities will include delivering direct nursing care, executing and monitoring patient care plans, administering medications and treatments, evaluating and coordinating discharge plans, and documenting and communicating patient conditions.

In this role, you will be expected to work two 12-hour shifts per week, from 7 PM to 7 AM.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Provide care with kindness, empathy, and positivity.
  • Adapt seamlessly to changing situations.
  • Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills for the benefit of patients.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • At least one year of recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently.
  • Capability to perform in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with post-operative cardiac surgical patients.
  • ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • NIHSS Certification.
  • Completion of ONS Chemo/Bio course within two years of hire if working in units administering chemotherapy.
  • ACLS certification upon hire or within one year for those in Adult/Combined Emergency Departments.
  • PALS certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or within one year for those in Emergency Departments.
  • TNCC or ENPC certification upon hire or within 24 months for those in Dedicated Trauma Centers.

Physical requirements include:

  • Full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
  • Capacity to work under stress and during irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
  • Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical demands exceed those for Light Work.
