Samuel Contract Staffing is seeking experienced Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and Paramedics for a full-time opportunity. This position offers excellent medical benefits and the potential for career growth.

Job Summary:

Our EMTs respond to both emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance, providing high-quality patient care, treatment, and customer service. We strive to deliver these services in the most efficient, professional, safe, compassionate, and cost-effective manner possible, adhering to established protocols and company policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough beginning-of-shift checks to ensure the ambulance is mechanically sound. This includes topping off fluids and verifying that all necessary equipment and supplies are on board.
  • Proficiently utilize medical equipment such as gurneys, airway equipment, IVs, splints, bandages, and medications to provide appropriate emergency medical treatment to patients.
  • Accurately read medication labels and directions for usage in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with empathy and compassion when interviewing patients, their families, bystanders, other service agency members, and facility staff.
  • Observe and identify any changes or deviations in a patient's eye or skin coloration, both as a result of their condition and the treatment provided.
  • Listen attentively to and follow instructions from Dispatch.
  • Maintain clear communication with Dispatch, facility staff, and other responders via phone or radio regarding the patient's status.
  • Stay current on evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other company policies.
  • Complete all required/assigned company training programs.

Qualifications & License/Certification:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Maintain a clean background and pass a drug screen.
  • Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, including strong listening and comprehension abilities. Exhibit adaptability to rapidly changing situations and sound decision-making skills.
  • Hold a valid State of Virginia EMT-B and National Registry EMT-B Certification.
  • Possess current CPR Certification.
  • Hold a valid Driver's License.
  • One year of EMT experience is preferred.
  • EVOC certification is preferred.
