About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashiering Associate at Michaels Stores. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fast and friendly checkout experiences for customers
  • Execute cash handling to standards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Engage customers on benefits of our rewards program and complete enrollments
  • Educate customers on our Voice of Customer (VOC) survey
  • Participate in the truck un-load and stocking processes to ensure truck standards are followed and completed within budget
  • Responsible for completing merchandise recovery and maintenance, including the merchandise return/go back process
  • Support shrink and safety programs
  • Assist with omnichannel processes
  • Acknowledge customers, help locate product, and provide solutions
  • Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remaining positive and respectful, even in difficult situations
Requirements
  • Retail and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to remain standing for long periods of time
  • Ability to move throughout the store
  • Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, and stretching
  • Lifting heavy boxes and accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment
Work Environment

This role is based in a public retail store setting, with all public areas being climate-controlled. Some stock rooms may not be climate-controlled, and some outdoor work may be required if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or unload trucks. The Frame shop contains glass cutters and heat presses, and work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
