Job Summary

Wanzek Construction is seeking a highly skilled Wind Turbine Technician to join our team. As a Wind Turbine Technician, you will be responsible for assisting other craft workers in the assembly, mechanical completion, repair, maintenance, and quality control of wind turbines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the assembly, mechanical completion, repair, maintenance, and quality control of wind turbines.
  • Perform tasks involving the use of hands and tools, such as torquing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions.
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push, and pull.
  • Position, join, align, and connect pumps, motors, and other mechanical or metal parts inside a wind turbine.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by promoting and complying with all Company and safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required safety documentation.
  • Travel to different job sites as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience in construction.
  • Or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Tower Rescue Training.
  • Wanzek Climb Training preferred.
  • LOTO.
  • Tool Drop.
  • Confined Space.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to understand units of force, pressure, and torque and apply appropriate tooling adjustments for each.
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standards.
