Key Responsibilities of a CNA:
- Provide residents with essential daily nursing care and services. Responsibilities encompass administrative tasks, assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), personal nursing care, patient transfers, admissions, discharges, food service, safety protocols, sanitation, care planning, and upholding resident rights.
Core Duties of the Transportation Specialist:
- Assist residents with loading and unloading from approved vehicles.
- Ensure safe transportation of residents to medical appointments and approved activities.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of facility vehicles, promoting a positive community image.
- Monitor vehicle maintenance logs and arrange for regular maintenance services.
- Exhibit flexibility in work hours to accommodate resident appointments.
- Demonstrate safe clinical transfer techniques for:
- Ingress and egress of mobile patients in vans.
- Transfer of patients to and from wheelchairs.
- Secure wheelchair-bound residents safely in vehicle bays.
- Lift, transfer, and mobilize patients weighing up to 70 pounds in confined spaces.
- Make informed decisions regarding the care of highly dependent patients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid CNA License.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum age of 25 to operate the vehicle.
- Valid driver's license is essential.
- Familiarity with GPS and local driving routes.
- No traffic violations in the past 7 years (including DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving).
- No felony traffic offenses.
- Maximum of 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Not more than one accident in the past 3 years.
- Successful completion of a drug screening and background check.
