AECOM is seeking an experienced Rail Vehicle Systems Design Lead to join our team in Baltimore, Maryland. This role plays a pivotal part in supporting the design, procurement, and maintenance of rail vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management & Technical Oversight: Lead engineering and project management efforts, including developing technical specifications for various rail systems, conducting design reviews, participating in First Article Inspections (FAI), and overseeing qualification testing.
  • Electromechanical Systems Integration: Collaborate with transit authorities and rail agencies to provide technical expertise across all phases of vehicle program development.

The successful candidate will have experience in electromechanical systems, HVAC, friction brake systems, and related technologies. They will be responsible for managing and supervising the testing and validation of rail vehicle systems, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

In this role, you will oversee the coordination and integration of vehicle subsystems between manufacturers and public transit agencies, identifying and resolving interface issues during design and construction phases. You will also participate in systems commissioning, testing, and startup support for vehicle communication and control systems.

We invite qualified candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 12 years of progressive experience in rail vehicle system design, management, and construction to apply.

The expected salary for this position is $198,000 - $278,000 based on location and individual qualifications.
