The Calibration/Aerospace/Military Technician will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and testing the New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster according to written procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and attention to detail.

Responsibilities
  • Manufacture, assemble, and test New Glenn (GS1) First Stage Booster components
  • Set up new production work areas, including tooling and equipment
  • Assist with the transition from development to production, including first articles
  • Perform second-party verifications and hardware inspections of engineering models, drawings, specifications, and written procedures
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct malfunctions by modification, rework, repair, and/or maintenance
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
  • Operate various material handling equipment, including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, flight vehicle and subassembly transportation equipment, truck-trailer combinations, and other ground support equipment as required
  • Set up and operate a wide range of precision calibrated tools, including torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, laser trackers, height gauges, and optical measuring instruments
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement projects for area safety and efficiency
  • Perform routine maintenance functions, such as daily clean-up of work areas to support 5S, FOD, and ESD

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
  • Experience in at least one of the following: fluids and tubing installation, instrumentation and electrical harness routing, and general Aerospace/Launch vehicle assembly
  • Interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
  • Work collaboratively with teams of diverse skills, fields, and backgrounds
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately, in writing and in person
  • Basic digital literacy, such as Windows, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areas
  • Work at heights on work stands and in lifts
  • Perform repetitive work, including lifting items to 35 lbs
