Software Engineer Position at Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our team in Manhattan Beach, CA. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software solutions for our Mission Planning systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java and experience with object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software development life cycles. You will work closely with our team to deliver high-quality software solutions and collaborate with other engineers to ensure seamless integration.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Participating in the software development cycle, including design, implementation, and delivery of build/test/release
  • Developing Java-based software solutions
  • Collaborating with team members on a regular basis
  • Supporting the team in completing necessary software on schedule
  • Completing work independently and as a part of an Agile team
  • Solving complex problems through innovative and creative solutions

Basic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in STEM with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience or 0 years of experience with a Master's degree in STEM. Active Top Secret DoD Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access is also required.

Preferred qualifications include experience with Java microservices, Graphical User Interface (GUI) applications, threading, intermediate object-oriented programming, design patterns, Data Distribution Service (DDS) messaging, web technologies, and Unified Modeling Language (UML).

Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $87,200 - $130,800 and a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
