Job Summary

Stellar Energy Americas Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for assisting project managers in all phases and aspects of a project, ensuring projects are set up correctly, and that proper tools are in place prior to the beginning of a project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist project managers in adhering to all project management related standard operating procedures.
  • Establish, monitor, and provide input into project budgets as directed by the project manager.
  • Coordinate contracts and materials to support the project by interfacing with procurement and external vendors and subcontractors.
  • Assist in coordination of project kick-off.
  • Assist project managers in interdepartmental communication, including data transfer within the departments.
  • Review and comment on the scope of work, contracts, and specifications.
  • Review and provide input to project schedules.
  • Assist other departments with the management of documentation and issues as they arise.
  • Develop documentation and other client deliverables.
  • Budget costs to generate change orders and provide supporting documentation.
  • Manage communication and coordination of disciplines within Stellar Energy Americas Inc.
  • Complete progress inspections at fabrication shops to ensure progress is in adherence to the project schedule.
  • Coordinate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, contractors, and technicians.
  • Coordinate fabrication, installation, and start-up issues throughout the process.
  • Support project closeout, including punch list items, client final acceptance, etc.
  • Assist with warranty requests by assessing and executing a corrective action plan.
  • Support project managers to include purchase request forms and change order requests.
  • Assist with documentation and reporting.
  • Assist in gate reviews.
  • May possibly manage specific project aspects.
  • Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits.
Requirements
  • Background and/or experience in construction, engineering, or management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or management related discipline.
  • 5 years' background and/or experience in construction, engineering, or management.
Work Environment

This job generally operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at fabrication shops and job sites.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Travel

Travel is primarily not required with the exception of local travel during the business day. Additionally, some projects may require out-of-state and overnight travel up to 40%.
