Job Summary

San Antonio College seeks a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Fire Technology courses. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Fire Science and experience as a firefighter.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Fire Technology courses to students
  • Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Fire Technology program
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Fire Science or a related field
  • Five years of experience as a paid Firefighter or 10 years as a volunteer Firefighter
  • Required licenses and certifications include Texas Commission on Fire Protection: Basic Structural Fire Fighter, Fire Instructor I, Fire Instructor II, and Field Examiner
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Fire Science or a related field
  • Teaching experience in Basic Fire Academy Courses at a Fire Academy or Fire Department
  • Five years of paid experience as a Texas Fire Fighter
  • Ten years of volunteer experience as a Texas Fire Fighter
