Job Summary

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to lead our Acute Care and Specialty Service Line. As a key leader, you will work under the broad supervision of the Chief of Staff to provide strategic direction and oversight to our service line.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and oversight to our service line, ensuring high-quality patient care and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve service line performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other service chiefs to develop and execute the overall Medical Center strategic and business plan.
  • Lead interdisciplinary team activities and provide cross-coverage to other programs as needed.
  • Direct the continuous measurement and improvement of the quality of care provided by the service.
  • Develop and implement tracking methods to monitor the service's responsibilities.
  • Responsible for financial and human resource management.
  • Develop the annual strategic and budget plan consistent with guidance and goals from the Director's office and of financial management service.
Requirements
  • Must be a board-certified physician with a strong background in clinical leadership and management.
  • Must have experience in developing and implementing strategic plans to improve service line performance, quality, and efficiency.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Must have a strong understanding of healthcare policy and regulations.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with other service chiefs and stakeholders.
