Job OverviewLadgov Corporation seeks a skilled Percussion Tutor to join our team. As a key member of our music department, you will be responsible for conducting small group lessons, fostering a strong team environment, and preparing students for performances.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver engaging percussion lessons, focusing on ensemble playing, intonation, balance, blend, and stylistic accuracy.
- Develop and maintain a positive and collaborative learning environment that enhances students' musical growth and teamwork.
- Prepare students for performances by guiding them through technical and artistic aspects of their instruments.
- Monitor and assess each student's progress, offering constructive feedback and adapting lesson plans to address individual needs.
- Encourage and organize group practice sessions and performance opportunities to build confidence and stage presence.
- Maintain accurate records of each student's progress, including attendance and performance evaluations.
- A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in music education, specifically teaching percussion instruments at the high school or college level.
- Proven experience in teaching and performing on a variety of percussion instruments, including snare drum, timpani, drum kit, and auxiliary percussion.
- Expertise in marching, concert, and auxiliary percussion techniques, with the ability to convey these skills to students of varying levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, crucial for effectively teaching and motivating students.
- Comprehensive knowledge of percussion techniques, including rudiments, timing, and rhythm accuracy.
- Ability to develop and implement structured, effective lesson plans that cater to the individual and collective needs of students.
- Experience in preparing students for performances, including solo and ensemble settings.
