We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Worker to join our team at Augustine Casino Careers. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of our kitchen and ensuring smooth food and beverage operations.
Key Responsibilities- Efficiently clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to maintain a safe and hygienic culinary environment.
- Operate industrial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, flatware, and cooking utensils.
- Hand wash items as needed, ensuring thorough cleaning and sanitation.
- Handle sensitive materials such as glass, fine dining items, silver, and/or other soft materials with care to minimize breakage.
- Wear proper protective equipment such as goggles, apron, gloves, boots, etc. as appropriate.
- Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing and kitchen area.
- Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly.
- Sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment according to health and safety standards.
- Understand and effectively read Safety Data Sheets as needed.
- Anticipate the needs of the F&B operation by constantly evaluating supplies, inspecting equipment, and reporting maintenance issues to management.
- Ensure proper thawing, storage, and handling of food according to regulations.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth flow of dishware and utensils.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a clean kitchen environment.
- Prioritize tasks efficiently to keep up with the demands of a busy kitchen.
- Ensure that clean dishes are readily available for chefs and other kitchen staff as needed.
- Be willing to assist with additional tasks as needed during peak hours or special events.

- Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively alongside a team.

- Able to meet operating policies and procedures along with following all health department and FDA standards and regulations.
- Knowledge and practice of Health Department regulations.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be conversational in English (bilingual in Spanish is preferred).
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid Food Handler's Card (FHC) as a pre-requisite to receiving a job offer.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License through Augustine Gaming Commission.
- Must successfully complete any other training required to handle chemicals and/or preventative safety measures in the workspace.
- Must have flexibility with scheduling during holidays, evenings, and weekends.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Able to work in an environment which may be unusually hot, cold, noisy, or dimly lit.
- Able to multi-task, stay organized, and professional during high stress peak hours.
- Must be able to handle positive and negative guest or co-worker interaction(s) by utilizing communication to effectively resolve any situation(s).

If none of the applicants should meet the stated qualifications, applicants whose education and experience are less than the stated requirements, may be interviewed and hired provided the applicant hired submits a formal written training plan within (30) thirty days which can be completed within a reasonable time agreed upon by the supervisor and the applicant. Applicants who are hired and fail to meet the agreed upon formal training program, will be discharged upon failure to complete the specified training as so scheduled.

This position requires a background, finance, and drug screening. You will be required to have no felony or theft in your criminal history. If any of the gaming requirements are not met, it will result in the applicant being denied a gaming license.
