Job Summary

Skookum Contract Services is seeking a skilled and dedicated HVAC Technician I to join our team. As an HVAC Technician I, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Utilize wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to perform repairs and maintenance.
  • Install and clean air and water filters, and install and program thermostats.
  • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts.
  • Connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power sources.
  • Communicate and interact directly with customers, informing them of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, and ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
  • Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers.
  • Communicate with schedulers to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
  • Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor, and maintain and wear PPE as required.
Requirements
  • Preferred: 6 months of HVAC experience.
  • Required: HVAC and/or EPA certification, and must have civilian or military trade school training or equivalent.
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds, and be able to perform physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance.
  • A valid state driver's license is required, and must be able to obtain and maintain coverage by Skookum's insurance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
