Sanitation and Maintenance Specialist (Full or Part Time Available)

Join our innovative team at Prime Roots, where we are dedicated to creating sustainable food options. We are currently looking for a Sanitation and Maintenance Specialist to uphold the cleanliness and safety of our food production environment. In this role, you will engage in essential custodial duties to ensure our facilities are well-maintained, alongside thorough cleaning tasks that support the health and safety of our commercial kitchens.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic custodial duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dusting floors.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling processes.
  • Disinfect and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Vacuum carpeted areas and conduct spot-cleaning as required.
  • Restock cleaning supplies and communicate inventory needs effectively.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all surfaces and assist with organization of workspaces.
  • Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure all dishes are clean and ready for use.

Deep Cleaning and Sanitation Duties:

  • Utilize clean-in-place systems for technical equipment cleaning.
  • Replace air filters and sanitize kitchen equipment, including refrigerators and walk-in coolers.
  • De-lime and descale equipment that interacts with water.
  • Ensure proper functioning of floor and sink drains.
  • Disassemble and sanitize parts from kitchen machinery as needed.
  • Conduct general dishwashing and maintain kitchen equipment cleanliness.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2-3 years of experience in custodial or sanitation roles.
  • Knowledge of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and adherence to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Physical capability to bend, twist, stretch, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in varying temperature environments.
  • Must be mobile and able to remain on feet for the duration of the shift.
