Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with Principal Engineers and mentor junior engineers.

As a Software Development Engineer at Amazon, you will steer the technical direction of our offerings, engaging with various technologies. Your responsibilities will include designing, coding, troubleshooting, and providing support. You will own what you create.

A successful candidate will witness their contributions on numerous websites, impacting tens of millions of customers and driving measurable revenue growth, while expanding their technical expertise in a creative, experimental, and innovative environment.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Deliver functional features throughout the entire software lifecycle, including customer-focused development, software design, implementation, testing, deployment, operations, and documentation.
- Exhibit operational excellence in all tasks.
- Participate actively in operational support for your team, identifying and resolving root causes of operational issues. Strive for continuous improvement in team operations.
- Engage in the code review process, providing constructive feedback to peers, including senior members.

Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience (non-internship).
- 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems (design patterns, reliability, and scaling).
- Proficiency in at least one programming language.

Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.

The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is influenced by factors such as market location and may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Amazon is a total compensation company. Depending on the position, equity, sign-on bonuses, and other forms of compensation may be included in the total compensation package, alongside a comprehensive range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
