Job Title: Painting and Glazing Craftsman

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Painting and Glazing Craftsman to join our team at The School District Of Philadelphia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and complex painting tasks, including the preparation and application of paints, varnishes, and other coatings.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of plaster finishes, including the removal of old plaster and the installation of new.
  • Operate power tools and equipment, such as sanders, scrapers, and mixers, to prepare surfaces and apply materials.
  • Work safely at heights, using scaffolding and other equipment as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.

Requirements:

  • Education equivalent to the completion of the twelfth school grade.
  • Three years of experience in the painting, glazing, and plastering trades.
  • Certification or licensure as a painter, glazier, or plasterer.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment.
