The Facilities Maintenance Associate is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and organization of various facilities at Dartmouth College. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in custodial work and be able to effectively operate and maintain heavy industrial cleaning equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unlocking and locking assigned spaces
  • Cleaning hard surface floors, including stairways, public restrooms, kitchen areas, laboratories, dining rooms, hallways, and offices
  • Vacuuming and shampooing carpeted areas
  • Dusting office furniture and window sills
  • Cleaning public restrooms and showers
  • Empting trash cans and implementing recycling procedures
  • Sweeping and shoveling snow from walkways

Additional Duties:

  • Performing major set up and break down for college events
  • Cleaning light fixtures and replacing bulbs
  • Spraying chemicals to control insects
  • Keeping note of cleaning materials and equipment needed

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in custodial work
  • Ability to operate and maintain heavy industrial cleaning equipment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
