Job Title: CNC Machining Manager

AFCO Performance Group is seeking an experienced CNC Machining Manager to lead our CNC machining team in Boonville, Indiana.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to oversee the daily operations of our CNC machining department. The successful candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and train a team of CNC machinists.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members.
  • Lead by example and provide guidance and support to the CNC machining team.
  • Train and mentor CNC machinists to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Implement and maintain a 6S organization system to ensure a clean and efficient work environment.
  • Schedule work for the CNC machining team based on production planning reports.
  • Ensure quality protocols are followed and continuously improved upon.
  • Create CNC programs to optimize output on lathes with live tooling and vertical mills with 3, 4, and 5 axis capability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in machining technologies and implement new processes and procedures as needed.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a strong background in manual machining equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Proficiency in using measurement and dimensional inspection equipment such as CMM's, vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
  • Ability to estimate machining and set-up times for future workload.
  • Experience with diagnosing machine problems and performing small repairs.
  • Programming skills in Mastercam from a 3D model.
  • Ability to utilize Solidworks and CREO to manipulate files and gather relevant design details.
  • Ability to design and fabricate machining fixtures.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, twist, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle proprietary information.
