This role requires a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and a commitment to upholding patient confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

Wound Care Management:
Oversee wound care assessments and treatment plans conducted by nurse practitioners and physician assistants to promote optimal healing and care.

Patient Care Plans:
Review, endorse, and provide guidance on patient care plans to ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards for effective wound management.

Telehealth Consultations:
Conduct telehealth consultations as needed, offering expert advice to healthcare staff and patients regarding wound care strategies and treatments.

Collaboration and Best Practices:
Actively participate in case discussions and contribute to the development and implementation of best practices in wound care management, including the latest advancements in grafting techniques and therapies.

Communication:
Maintain clear and effective communication with the care team regarding patient status, treatment progress, and any necessary adjustments to care plans.

Compliance and Confidentiality:
Uphold patient confidentiality by adhering to all relevant regulations and ensuring that practices comply with Alabama state laws.

Qualifications:

Licensure:
Must hold an active MD license in Alabama (mandatory).

Experience:
Previous experience in Geriatrics, Primary Care, the ED, Hospitalist, general surgery, or a related field is preferred.

Knowledge:
A solid understanding of the complexities of chronic wounds and the regulatory framework governing collaborating physicians in Alabama.

Skills:
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

Independence:
Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
