Principal Controls Design Engineer

Provide technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project.
Key Responsibilities- Qualify for and fulfill the Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) role for the power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design "cradle to grave".
- Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and all testing requirements.
- Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures.
- Manage technical supplier teams with respect to cost, schedule, and quality.
- Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages.
- Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
- Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
- Comply with regulatory requirements, including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation, and any required supporting analysis.
- Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
- BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in controls/digital design engineering.
- Work effectively with a team to achieve team goals.
- Independently multi-task and resolve conflicting priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Availability for shift work during installation.
- Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
- Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
- Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification.
- Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state).
- Familiarity with the operation of programmable logic controllers.
- Familiarity with electric or electromechanical analog/pneumatic control loops.
- Familiarity with distributed digital data collection and control systems (e.g., Emerson Ovation, RSLogix, PI ProcessDisclaimer).
