Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and Treat Speech Disorders: Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders in patients.
  • Develop Treatment Plans: Create treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of a diverse population of patients.
  • Screen Patients: Perform screenings to detect voice or speech disorders in patients.
  • Educate Patients and Family Members: Educate patients and family members about speech disorders and causes, including disabilities and traumatic events.
  • Keep Records: Keep detailed records relating to patient conditions, care plans, therapies, and progress.
  • Report Progress: Report progress and current status to appropriate parties, which may include family members, teachers, or medical professionals.
Requirements:
  • Clinical Problem-Solving Skills: Effective clinical problem-solving skills to include identifying and prioritizing issues, developing sound and innovative action plans, executing action plans on a timely basis, and ensuring appropriate results.
  • Team Player: Be a strong team player with the ability to build strong relationships with a diverse population.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend in English.
  • Valid License: Valid Speech-Language Pathologist state license (where appropriate).
Qualifications:
  • Experience: Experience in an SNF setting is required.
  • Education: Possesses a Master Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Certification: Certification in accordance with the requirements of the American Speech Language Hearing Association.
  • Licensed: Licensed by the State in the designated geographic area in his/her respective therapy profession.
  • Vaccination: Candidate must be vaccinated.
