Job Title: Linux Cloud System Engineer

Location: Remote with occasional onsite requirements

Employment Type: Contract to Hire or Direct Hire (Open to US Citizens and Green Card holders)

Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000 annually

The Linux Cloud System Engineer is tasked with the design, implementation, and maintenance of server, storage, and cloud infrastructures. This role also involves basic scripting and integration responsibilities as necessary.

  • Set up, deploy, and maintain various computing systems (HP, EC2, Lenovo)
  • Install, configure, and manage VMWare ESXi and VCenter virtualization platforms
  • Implement, deploy, and manage a variety of Linux operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, Debian, etc.)
  • Oversee the configuration and support of NAS storage solutions (NetApp) and cloud storage options
  • Manage various Linux services and daemons (MySQL, SMTP, DNS, HTTPD, SSL, Kerberos, etc.)
  • Employ scripting languages such as Python for task automation
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality products and services
  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation within the team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline (Master's degree is a plus)
  • 5+ years of experience in a Systems Engineer or equivalent position
  • Expertise in at least one scripting language
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery
  • Strong technical foundation in telecommunications or IT solutions
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to continuous improvement
