About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse LPN to join our Psychiatric Unit team at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. As a LPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care based on knowledge of principles and practice of licensed practical nursing.
- Assist in patient education, rehabilitation, and maintenance of health.
- Observe, record, and report to the registered nurse the patient's symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Participate in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
- Assume duties of medication nurse capably and with full knowledge of actions and untoward effects of medication being dispensed.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to revise goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the changes in patient status.
- Assist patients with all activities of daily living, including bathing, positioning, range of motion, eliminating, and ambulation.
- Function as preceptor for new employees and students.
Requirements
- Current State of Indiana LPN license or active Compact State LPN license.
- BLS Certification required. Crisis Prevention Certification training completion within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated proficiency in basic nursing skills, including phlebotomy.
- Prior hospital experience preferred.
