Job Title: Psychotherapist

Little Flower Children and Family Services of New York is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the well-being of children, youth, and families across New York City and Long Island. We are seeking a skilled Psychotherapist to join our team in the Residential Treatment Center.

Job Summary

The Psychotherapist will work with residents and their families to address a range of psychiatric, psychological, and emotional challenges. Using individualized treatment plans and evidence-based models, the successful candidate will help residents develop coping strategies, build trust, and alleviate distress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct weekly sessions with residents and their families to assess needs, explore issues, and build trust.
  • Encourage residents to express their feelings and behavior, and work with them to identify changes that can be made.
  • Evaluate therapy outcomes and write comprehensive reports.
  • Monitor treatment plans and modify them as needed.
  • Collaborate with staff to provide suggestions for therapeutic interventions with residents.
  • Utilize evidence-based models, such as TF-CBT and CBT+, to inform treatment.
  • Participate in evidence-based practice trainings and consultation calls as needed.
Requirements
  • LCSW/LMHC/LMSW (clinical hours available)
  • Experience with evidence-based models preferred
  • At least two years of experience working with children and families preferred
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with supervisors, workers, and residents
  • Ability to work collaboratively with an Interdisciplinary Treatment team
  • Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and comprehensive case reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Work Environment

Full-time and on-call positions available at multiple sites in Brooklyn and Long Island.

This is an hourly position.
