OVERVIEW: Alexandria Technical and Community College is seeking a dedicated instructor to collaborate with existing faculty in enhancing our tradition of student achievement, fostering industry partnerships, and positioning the nursing program for future advancement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver and facilitate nursing education in classroom, laboratory, and clinical environments.
- Engage with industry partners to strengthen educational outcomes.
- Participate in curriculum design and development.
- Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Support student advising and retention initiatives.
- Contribute to the accreditation process.
- Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and effective teamwork.
- Maintain professional credentials and skills.
- Participate in college promotional and success activities.
- This role is focused on teaching and does not include director responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Requirements:
- Graduate degree in nursing or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in nursing with a graduate degree in a supportive discipline.
- For nursing program directors, a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing, or a nursing clinical specialty is required.
Occupational Experience:
- At least two years of verified professional experience as a registered nurse.
- Experience must align with the mission and goals of the nursing program.
Recency Requirement:
- One year of experience must be within the last five years, unless the candidate has two years of successful full-time postsecondary teaching experience in the field within that timeframe.
Professional Requirements:
- Current, unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in Minnesota.
- Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for on-site clinical teaching assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven skills in curriculum development.
- Experience in teaching or training.
- Recent experience in maternal child health and/or medical/surgical nursing.
- Experience with nursing simulations.
- A broad range of nursing experience.
- Experience working with licensed practical nurses and/or associate degree or registered nurses.
- Strong interpersonal and team-building abilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer and technology use.
