Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Technology Risk Officer to join our team at Truist. As a key member of our Enterprise Risk Management function, you will be responsible for providing independent risk oversight and guidance to our technology risk domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide independent risk oversight and guidance to our technology risk domains, including Corporate Cyber Security, Access Management, Architecture & Infrastructure, and the Enterprise Data Office.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and policies to ensure the effective identification, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting of operational, technology, compliance, and strategic risks.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across the company to drive solutions and risk remediation roadmaps, and evaluate the effectiveness of risk management practices.
  • Assess and communicate domain risk maturity and business unit residual risk performance against our risk appetite to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for technology risk management, and provide guidance on regulatory engagement practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective channels of communication with other business unit chief risk officers, control functions, senior business unit management, and regulatory agencies.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of risk management professionals, and influence cybersecurity talent management through recommendations to Truist senior leadership.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree in business or financial-related discipline, or equivalent education and related training.
  • Twenty years of experience in managing people with demonstrated high competency in recruiting, developing, and coaching/mentoring.
  • Fifteen years of experience in a financial institution (or large corporate equivalent) with emphasis on risk management or equivalent work experience.
  • Ten years of large Enterprise Control Functions and related technology operations, including extensive knowledge of technology policy, procedures, and regulations.
  • Knowledge of key technology rules/regulations and technology risk management practices.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead direct and indirect teammates.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), presentation, and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence and communicate with impact.
  • Experience presenting to executive leadership and Board level.
  • Superior ability to think critically and strategically.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Twenty years of experience in a financial institution with emphasis on risk management or equivalent work experience.
  • Professional designations such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Project Manager (CPM).
  • Strategic business and financial planning experience.
  • Experience with audit processes and techniques.
