Teaching Residency Opportunity

Uncommon Schools is seeking highly motivated and dedicated individuals to join our Relay GSE Teaching Residency program. As a Resident, you will have the opportunity to receive high-quality teacher training, learn how to teach, and gradually take on more teaching responsibility.

Program Overview

The two-year residency is designed for recent college graduates and career changers who are looking for an innovative pathway into the teaching profession. You will be hired to work full-time as a Resident at Uncommon Schools – Rochester Prep, where you will help increase student achievement and maintain and support school-level systems.

Responsibilities
  • Tutor small groups and individual students
  • Be a teacher's assistant
  • Co-teach
  • Teach certain elective and enrichment courses
  • Substitute teach
  • Complete Relay GSE coursework and take graduate school classes
  • Take all necessary New York state tests towards teacher certification
Benefits

Eligibility Requirements
  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75
