About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. SQL Developer to join our team at Saxon Global. As a key member of our database team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance databases using SQL Server.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements
  • Develop and maintain high-performance stored procedures, functions, and queries
  • Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and other techniques
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database integrity issues, performance issues, and other problems
  • Work with multiple teams to review and provide solutions to stored procedure issues, query tuning, and schema refinement
  • Administer database backups, restores, maintenance plans, upgrades, and other administrative tasks
  • Provide on-call production support and analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
  • Develop and maintain documentation for processes and procedures, and best practices

Requirements:

  • Subject matter expert in SQL Server performance and database design
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, connectivity issues, security issues, etc.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Clustering, Database mirroring, Replication, Always ON
  • Expertise in Data Security with RLS, encryption, TDE
  • Administrative duties including backups, restore, maintenance plans, upgrades, etc.
  • Able to provide on-call production support
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time
  • Provide 24×7 support for critical production systems
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
  • Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention
  • Knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs)
  • Documentation skills for processes and procedures, and best practices (creating KBs, run books, topology, etc.)
  • Experience in Database Deployment and Transformation in Public Cloud (Azure / AWS / Google)
