Job Title: Special Education Teacher

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic team at Soliant. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and will be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* **Instruction and Support:**

* Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.

* Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instructional activities that accommodate diverse learning styles.

* Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed.

* **Classroom Management:**

* Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and safe classroom environment.

* Employ behavioral management strategies to address and resolve issues that may impact student learning.

* Foster a classroom culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.

* **Collaboration and Communication:**

* Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and administrators to ensure a cohesive educational experience for students.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, needs, and any concerns.

* Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of educational goals and strategies.

* **Professional Development:**

* Stay current with best practices in special education and incorporate new strategies into teaching.

* Attend professional development workshops and trainings as required.

* **Administrative Duties:**

* Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.

* Prepare reports and documentation as required by the school district and state regulations.

**Qualifications:**

* Education and Certification:

* Bachelors degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field (Masters degree preferred).

* Valid Michigan Special Education Certification (Teacher of Students with Disabilities or equivalent).

* Experience:

* Minimum of 2 years of experience working in special education (preferred but not required).

* Experience with various disabilities and learning challenges, including autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities, and emotional disturbances.

* Skills and Abilities:

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

* Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.

* Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the needs of each student.

* Personal Attributes:

* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special needs.

* Ability to maintain a positive attitude and resilience in a challenging environment.
