Job Overview:
This apprenticeship program provides a significant opportunity for practical experience in the automotive sector, working closely with seasoned technicians to learn various facets of auto body repair. This role includes a trial period to qualify for a comprehensive Technician Development Program lasting 18 months.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in executing fundamental auto body repairs, such as dent removal, sanding, and painting under the guidance of experienced professionals.
- Learn the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Engage in vehicle assessments to identify damages and formulate repair strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues to complete repair tasks within designated timelines and quality benchmarks.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Graduates from Trade or Vocational schools are preferred.
- Some hands-on experience is advantageous.
- I-CAR Gold Class certification is preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand for extended periods while working on vehicles.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
- Must be able to visually assess vehicle damage in various weather conditions.
- Proficient use of hands for handling vehicle components.
- Strong enthusiasm for the automotive field and a willingness to learn and enhance technical skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work effectively within a team.
- Basic understanding of auto body repair techniques and tools is a plus but not mandatory.
- Good communication skills and a positive approach to learning and problem-solving.
- Reliable transportation for commuting to work.
- Maintain a positive relationship with supervisors and coworkers.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
- Exhibit a friendly, accommodating, and courteous demeanor towards all employees.
- Foster a spirit of teamwork within the organization.
- Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, organized workspace at all times.
- Perform all assigned tasks according to the company's Standardized Operating Procedures.
- Continuously seek to enhance the efficiency of the production department and overall operations, and participate in company meetings.
- Engage in training programs as necessary to maintain the technical and professional skills required for this position.
- Be willing to extend working hours as needed to meet workload and customer demands.
- Mentor must agree to accept the trainee.
- No unplanned absences.
- No tardiness violations.
- Must work with the selected mentor for at least 90% of the trial period.
- Trainee must pass the final Pre-TDP assessment.
- Mentor must sign the training agreement.
