Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive, innovative, and reliable Facilities Operations Manager to join the Equinox team. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about contributing to a dynamic and progressive organization.

The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the maintenance team and oversee all activities related to the upkeep of the club, ensuring that it consistently meets Equinox's standards for cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consistently uphold Equinox's policies and procedures
  • Recruit, train, manage, mentor, and evaluate maintenance personnel
  • Develop staff members with potential for supervisory roles
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations on work anniversaries
  • Review new hires at 30, 60, and 90 days
  • Ensure Manager on Duty attends monthly facility evaluations
  • Train new employees on club-specific cleaning protocols
  • Perform regular cleanliness inspections
  • Facilitate daily meetings with each shift's Manager on Duty
  • Provide daily updates to the Assistant General Manager regarding ongoing tasks
  • Maintain adequate inventory of maintenance and locker room supplies
  • Conduct frequent walkthroughs of the facility
  • Establish procedures for severe weather situations
  • Oversee deliveries
  • Stay knowledgeable and skilled in emergency procedures
  • Participate in management meetings
  • Maintain a high profile during peak club hours
  • Ensure outstanding customer service
  • Monitor key competitors regarding location, facilities, and equipment
  • Assist in developing the annual budget for the Maintenance Department
  • Perform any additional tasks or responsibilities as necessary

Qualifications:

To thrive in this position, candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a commercial or fitness environment
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, lead, and train a team
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fitness equipment maintenance
  • Familiarity with tools, cleaning products, and OSHA regulations
  • Valid First Aid Certification
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Ability to implement innovative strategies and solve problems
  • Exemplary honesty and integrity
  • Dedicated and diligent work ethic
  • Exhibit a sense of urgency in all tasks
  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish is preferred
