We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Observation Unit team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As an Observation Unit RN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our team.
Responsibilities- Utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care to patients and their families.
- Maintain competency reflective of current standards practice.
- Interact and contribute to the professional development of peers and colleagues.
- Integrate ethical provisions in all areas of nursing practice.
- Integrate evidence-based practice and research findings into nursing practice.
- Recognize and adjust to situations that vary from the norm.
- Promote safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
- Guide and supervise staff in the provision of patient care.
- Enhance own professional growth and development.
- Maintain a safe therapeutic working environment and recognize need for action in emergency situations.
- Documentation is thoroughly and timely completed.
- Requires at least one year of experience as a staff nurse.
- At least 1 year of Cardiac Tele Experience.
- Critical Care experience is preferred.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
- Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
- Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
- Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
- American Heart Association CPR Certification.
- American Heart Association ACLS Certification.
- NIHSS Certification within one month of hire.
- PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements.
